SCR’s Medical Wing Is Geared Up In All Aspects To Combat COVID-19

Hyderabad, April 12 (Maxim News): In view of COVID-19 Pandemic, to combat with Corona virus Medical department of South Central Railway with 5 major hospitals and 44 health units spread over the Zone swung into action to render medical assistance in the hour of need.

All the Doctors were briefed and trained about the protocol procedure for treating the pandemic COVID 19 patients through video conferencing by Ministry of Health, Govt of India in coordination with Railway Board.

Further, all the Para Medical staff like Nurses, Lab Technician, Pharmacists, Nursing Assistants, Hospital Attendants of the Zone are properly trained and counseled about the precautions and steps to be taken while dealing with COVID -19 patients.

All Doctors and Paramedical staff were made aware of the prevailing situation and advised to be ready to render medical possible medical needs and ensured that the required medical equipment is being supplied to all the medical staff.

Quarantine facilities were developed by converting the Railway Institutes, Colleges and Schools etc.,. A total of 862 quarantine beds were provided which includes o­n Secunderabad Division 142 beds, in Vijayawada Division 129 beds, in Hyderabad Division 147 beds, in Guntakal Division 234 beds, in Guntur Division 125 beds and in Nanded Division 85 beds.

Covid 19 Isolation wards

In the prevailing emergency situation to combat with the Covid -19, separate isolation cum Covid wards were set up with 142 beds at Central Hospital, Lallaguda, 100 beds at Railway Hospital, Vijayawada and42 beds at Railway Hospital, Guntakal

In order to serve the patients in these wards, in addition to the existing Medical staff ,the Zoneis recruiting Doctors, Nurses, Hospital attendants, Pharmacists, Housekeeping staff etc o­n temporary basis by conducting o­nline and telephonic interviews.

So far, 11 Doctors and 36 other medical staff were engaged to work-in Railway Hospital , Vijayawada ; 6 Doctors and 14 other Medical staff were taken o­n rolls under temporary recruitment at Railway Hospital, Guntakal.

In addition to the above, a notification has been issued for hiring 43 doctors and 161 Medical staff to work at Central Hospital, Lallaguda o­n temporary basis, the last date for submission of applications is April 15 and interviews will be conducted through video calling, complete details are available o­n SCR official website : www.scr.indianrailways.gov.in

As advised by the Railway Board, all the Railway Hospitals o­n the Zone are extending medical services to all the Central Government employees to cater their medical needs in the prevailing emergent situation.

Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR has expressed his satisfaction over the steps being taken by medical wing and facilities provided at Railway Hospitals. He also advised all the employees to strictly follow the precautionary measures to contain the spread of Corona virus and to attend the Railway Hospitals in case of any health issues, so that they can have proper medical attention under the guidance of well experienced Doctors.
