- Congress government focuses on Kamareddy development projects
- BJP and BRS leaders join Congress during Kamareddy programme
Hyderabad: Advisor to the Telangana Government Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Monday launched multiple development works in Kamareddy municipality and said the Congress government is giving special focus to the town’s growth. Shabbir Ali laid foundation stones for projects worth crores of rupees across several municipal wards and stressed that development, not rhetoric, defines the Congress approach.
Addressing residents, Shabbir Ali said the government believes in visible work on the ground. He urged people to judge parties by performance rather than speeches. “Our goal is to raise the Congress flag in the municipality through development. We appeal to the public to vote based on the work we have done, not on communal agendas,” he said. He also warned against attempts to spread communal hatred and asked voters to reject such politics at the ballot box.
In Ward 6 of Old Rajampet and Sarampalli, Shabbir Ali inaugurated internal road works and a new drainage system. Meanwhile, in Ward 13 of Tekrial, he launched CC road works to strengthen basic infrastructure. Later, in Ward 1 of Adloor, he instructed officials to complete all pending works without delay. He also formally began CC road and drainage construction in the area. Therefore, local residents said the projects would address long standing civic issues.
Speaking further, Shabbir Ali highlighted welfare and development initiatives being implemented across Telangana. He said the Congress government is expanding BT roads and modernising drainage systems in both rural and urban areas. He also spoke about upgrading government schools into Amma Model Schools and improving government hospitals with advanced medical equipment and free medicines.

According to him, the Indiramma housing scheme is helping the poor who own land to build homes. Meanwhile, women are receiving support through free bus travel and subsidised gas cylinders under the Mahalaxmi scheme. Farmers are also benefiting through the Rythu Bharosa programme with input subsidies and loan waivers. “This is not a government of words, but of actions. We are working to transform Kamareddy’s landscape through visible development,” he added.
During the programme, several BJP and BRS leaders from Rajampet, Sarampalli, Tekrial, and Adloor joined the Congress. Shabbir Ali welcomed them by offering party stoles. He said the Congress development agenda is attracting leaders from other parties. He assured the new entrants of recognition and roles within the party. He also noted that these defections have boosted Congress workers in Kamareddy and indicated that more leaders may join soon.
