Six Persons Arrested For Killing Deer

Kothagudem: Six persons were taken into custody for killing a deer in the forests of Maddikonda in Aswaraopet mandal in the district on Friday.

The accused were identified as Soyam Sunder Rao, Modiyam Vekatesh, P Tej Kiran , Mecha Vasantham, S Lingaraju and K Vamshi, all residents of Maddikonda, informed the in-charge forest ranger Rahman.

The accused caught the deer which strayed into the village from the forests and killed it. They then tried to sell the deer skin, meat and other parts to prospective buyers. The meat, skin and other material were seized and a case under the provisions of Wildlife Protection Act was booked against them, he added.
