The explosion occurred at around 1.30 am at a bar called Le Cantèlisation. At the time of the incident, more than 100 people were inside the bar, celebrating the New Year. Soon after the blast, a large scale fire broke out. The flames then spread throughout the bar, increasing the severity of the accident. As a result, the death toll in the Switzerland bar explosion rose sharply, with reports confirming that 40 people lost their lives so far.

Meanwhile, the incident on New Year’s Day has left many families in mourning. The sudden nature of the explosion and the rapid spread of fire gave little time for those inside to react.
