Hyderabad, Nov.28 (Maxim News): Union minister and BJP senior leader Sushma Swaraj asserted that development of Telangana was possible only if the BJP won the elections in the State.
Sushma Swaraj, who arrived here to participate in an election campaign in support of party candidates, was speaking to the media at Madhapur. Sushma Swaraj said 2,000 persons, including youth laid down their precious lives for separate Telangana, but the TRS has identified only 400 martyrs. She alleged that KCR did not even recognise the services of martyrs, who sacrificed their lives. She also clarified that the BJP has no friendly ties with TRS. “Is it Telangana State or KCR regime? The situation has totally changed now in the State”, she asked.
Taking a dig at KCR, she said Telangana State was created for development of the State and not for the benefit of five members of KCR family. The youth did not get jobs in the State, but the family members of KCR got employment, she ridiculed. She said the BJP had clarity on separate statehood of Telangana and extended its support from the beginning to the separate statehood movement. The People’s Front parties like the Congress and Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) and Telangana Rastra Samiti (TRS) had supported separate statehood but the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) opposed it. So there was contradiction between them.
Referring to peace talks with Pakistan, Sushma Swaraj, who is External Affairs Minister, said terrorism and peace talks cannot go together. She clarified that Pakistan should shun violence and terrorism if peace talks have to carry forward.(Maxim News)
