Telangana Residents Return Home After 18 Years in Dubai Jail

Telangana Residents | Hyderabad, February 21 (Maxim News): Five residents of Telangana finally landed in Hyderabad on Wednesday after spending 18 long years in a Dubai jail.

Their emotional reunion with their families at Shamshabad airport marked a joyful end to a long and difficult ordeal.

The story began 18 years ago when the five men, from Sirisilla, Rudrangi, and Konaraopeta mandals, were involved in a case related to the death of a Nepalese watchman named Bahadur Singh.

They were initially sentenced to 10 years in prison, but a heartbreaking turn of events extended their sentence to 25 years.

Despite relentless efforts, including a personal visit by former minister KTR to Nepal and financial compensation offered to the victim’s family, the court initially remained unmoved.

However, a ray of hope emerged when their lawyers appealed for leniency due to their deteriorating health. Thankfully, the Dubai court heard their plea and granted their early release.

The return of these five men was a tearful celebration for their families, who had waited patiently for their loved ones for nearly two decades. Their story serves as a reminder of the power of hope and perseverance, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges. (Maxim News)
