Hyderabad, June 5: The Telangana government has initiated steps to acquire an additional 301 acres of land for the expansion of Bharat Future City near Mucherla village in Rangareddy district.
The proposed acquisition is aimed at creating space for future investments and facilitating the establishment of offices by multinational companies in the emerging business hub.
Officials of the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation recently requested the government to allocate an additional 301 acres for the project. Following the proposal, senior officials entrusted the land acquisition process to the Rangareddy District Collector.
Revenue authorities issued a land acquisition notification on May 29 and are preparing to conduct a Gram Sabha before proceeding with the acquisition process.
According to officials, compensation of up to Rs. 82 lakh per acre may be offered to affected landowners and farmers. The land is proposed to be acquired from private pattadars and farmers in Mucherla village, located close to the Future City project area.
The government had originally planned Bharat Future City across approximately 14,000 acres. However, expansion plans gained momentum after the Telangana Rising 2047 conference held last year.
Officials said growing interest from corporate firms has increased the land requirement for the project. The TGIIC has reportedly estimated that nearly 1,000 additional acres may be required in the future as several companies have signed agreements to establish operations in Bharat Future City.
The expansion is expected to strengthen the project’s position as a major investment and employment destination in Telangana.
