TRS pays insurance coverage premiums to party workers

Hyderabad, Oct.11 (NSS): TRS working president KT Rama Rao handed over a cheque for Rs 26.11 crore premium to officials of the United India Insurance company at Telangana Bhavan here on Tuesday.

The TRS offers Rs.2 lakh insurance coverage facility to each worker and it has been paying the premium amount for seven years.

According to party leaders, in the last seven years, the TRS had spent Rs.66 crore towards insurance premiums, and about 4,000 bereaved families of the party activists, received insurance amounts of Rs.2 lakh each. For those who sustain complete or partial disability, an insurance amount of Rs.1 lakh or Rs.50,000 respectively will be paid. Under the insurance scheme, all the party activists aged below 70 years get coverage.
