TS Govt Urges SC Against Rayalaseema Project Planned By AP Govt

Hyderabad, Aug.5 (Maxim News): Telangana Government has moved Supreme Court against Rayalaseema lift project planned by Andhra Pradesh government.

The Telangana government has urged online the special court to stall the Rayalaseema lift project as it incurs loss to Palamur, Ranga Reddy and other water projects in the state.

It also appealed to stay the tenders process for the Rayalaseema lift project being planned by the AP government.

Krishna board has already asked the Jagan Mohan Reddy government to not to go ahead on the Rayalaseema lift project or others which got no permission from the apex council.

The Krishna river management board has also directed the AP government of Jagan Mohan Reddy to submit Detailed project reports (DPRs) of the Rayalaseema lift project.

At this juncture the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked the officials to not to leave a drop of waters from the river. KCR directed last week to move the Supreme Court to stall AP government plan to get Srisailam back waters through Krishna river.

Taking cue, the officials have urged the apex Court to stall the Rayalaseema lift project and its tenders process likely on August 11.

He clarified that it is not possible to attend Krishna Board meeting on August 5 as several pre arranged programs like Cabinet meeting on key issues. (Maxim News)
