A TSRTC bus driver who set himself ablaze in Khammam has died here on Sunday at Apollo DRDO hospital in Hyderabad while undergoing treatment.
Srinivas Reddy who was working in Khammam depot has been taking part in the strike called by the RTC unions. On Saturday, Reddy poured petrol and set himself ablaze. Reddy is learned to have taken the step over the depression on losing the job.
Meanwhile, tension prevailed at the hospital as RTC JAC and opposition leaders staged a protest over the death of Srinivas Reddy. CPM leader Tammineni Veerabhadram and several other leaders were taken into custody by the police.
