Vakiti Srihari | New Delhi/Hyderabad, April 28 (Maxim News): Telangana Minister Vakiti Srihari met Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh at the National Fisheries Development Board office in Rajendranagar on Tuesday. The meeting focused on support for animal husbandry, dairy development, and fisheries sectors in the state.
Senior officials from Telangana also attended the meeting. Fisheries Director Nikhila, Animal Husbandry official Lakshmi Narayana, and other officers were present.
Vakiti Srihari briefed the Union Minister on welfare and development schemes being implemented in Telangana under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He explained the progress of programmes in livestock, dairy, and fisheries sectors.
The Minister also sought continued cooperation and financial support from the Centre for ongoing and future projects.

Key issues discussed during the meeting included assistance for aquaculture, insurance coverage, and fair allocation of resources such as mopeds for beneficiaries.
Rajiv Ranjan Singh responded positively to the proposals and assured that the Centre would examine them. Vakiti Srihari said central funds should reach all states in a fair manner. He added that Telangana deserves equal support as part of the federal system.
The Minister also alleged that the previous state government did not effectively secure available central funds for Telangana.
Highlighting state priorities, Srihari said the government is focusing on restoration and development of water resources. He said Telangana plans works related to 46,000 major tanks, 26,000 minor tanks, and 100 reservoirs located between the Godavari and Krishna rivers.
During the meeting, the Minister raised concerns over reports about shifting the National Fisheries Development Board from Rajendranagar.
The Union Minister clarified that there is no proposal to relocate the NFDB. He assured that the board will continue to function from Rajendranagar.
Later, Vakiti Srihari felicitated Rajiv Ranjan Singh with a shawl, bouquet, and memento.
The meeting assumes significance as Telangana seeks stronger Centre state coordination for rural livelihoods, fisheries growth, and dairy expansion. (Maxim News)
