Hyderabad, May 20 (Maxim News): Telangana BJP State President N Ramchander Rao has called upon the party rank and file to gear up to capture the three newly formed civic bodies under the (GHMC) Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area. Addressing a meeting of division presidents and senior leaders from GHMC limits, alongside Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma on Tuesday, Rao emphasised the importance of the upcoming polls and urged the cadre to work with discipline, unity, and complete focus at the booth level.
He stated that following the delimitation process, the number of wards has increased to 300 and may reach 350. The party must remain fully prepared for elections likely to be held in September or October. Recalling the party’s strong performance in the 2020 GHMC polls, Ramchander Rao noted that the BJP secured 48 seats independently, reflecting growing public confidence in the party. Taking a strong political stance, he asserted that the BRS is losing relevance, noting that many BRS leaders are eager to join the BJP, with hundreds already in contact with the party. He declared that a BJP victory in the GHMC elections will inevitably pave the way for a BJP government in Telangana.
Ramchander Rao made it clear that party tickets will be awarded exclusively to hardworking workers who are active on the ground and deeply connected with the public. He explicitly stated that group politics and internal fighting will not be tolerated. Both state and central leadership will work in tandem, with surveys, public acceptability, and individual winnability serving as the primary factors for candidate selection. He informed the cadre that the central party is closely monitoring these elections and urged them to ensure that booth committees are properly formed and strengthened in every ward.
Drawing inspiration from the BJP’s success in Bengal through organisational discipline, he said the Telangana unit must work with the same commitment. The state chief also noted that the recent public meeting addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Telangana was a massive success, creating great enthusiasm among voters and party workers. He expressed absolute confidence that the BJP will win all three proposed municipal corporations in the region, emerging as the dominant political force.
