Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 14 (Maxim News): BJP MP Raghunandan Rao has strongly objected to the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo on the smart ration cards issued by the Telangana government. He demanded that Prime Minister Modi’s photo be definitely included. Raghunandan Rao objected that the state government is not recognizing the rice provided by the Center under its share.
The MP said that out of the six kilos of rice given by the Congress government, five kilos are being given by the Center. He questioned why the photos of three Congress leaders are being put on the card while giving one kilo of rice. Raghunandan Rao objected to the issuance of smart ration cards with the photos of CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy. He was angry over the absence of Modi’s photo. On this occasion, he demanded that the government should provide clarity on the distribution of 1.06 crore ration cards in the state. He said that there are already about 90 lakh ration cards and the government should reveal how many new ones are being issued.
The MP demanded that the Congress government disclose the details of the printing costs and tenders for ration cards. He demanded that the details of who was given the contract to print the cards and how many crores were spent be disclosed. Similarly, he said that the Congress government should implement the promises made to ration dealers and pay them honorarium. He demanded that the increased commission of ration dealers be given immediately and that the complaints about high levels of starch in rice be resolved. (Maxim News)
