Women Leaders Deplore Nannapeneni’s Remarks Against Dalit SI: Says Apology

Hyderabad, Sept.14 (Maxim News): Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Women and Transgender Associations JAC leaders today condemned the remarks made by senior political leader Nannapaneni Rajakumari against a Dalit Sub-Inspector Anurdha, who was on duty at Atmakur while the TDP was organizing a protest programme recently, and demanded that the former should offer unconditional apology to the SI.

Speaking to the media at Hyderguda NSS here, Sandhya of Pow, K Sajaya, Social Activist, RN Ashalatha of AIDWA, Satyavathi, Sagagnaz Iliyas, and other members, demanded the Andhra Pradesh Government to take stringent action against Rajakumari for her tirade against Dalit SI. They also said that political parties should ban leaders who belittle Daliths from their respective party and thus uphold democratic and secular principles.

The JAC leaders recalled that Rajakumari had earlier also made disparaging remarks against dalit leader like Pratbhi Bharathi, former A P Assembly Speaker. They said it was unbecoming of a senior leader like Rajakumari to make insulting remarks against Dalit and women officials. (Maxim News)
