Women to get Rs.6000 under PM Matru Yojana

The Central Government has initiated various schemes to provide direct financial assistance to women.

One such scheme we highlight today is the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, which offers Rs 6000 to women.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is a government scheme specifically designed for women with the aim of combating malnutrition in the country.

Pregnant women are provided with direct financial assistance of Rs 6000.

The scheme aims to support women during their pregnancy and childbirth by offering financial aid.

Benefits and Installments

Under this scheme, the financial aid is disbursed in three installments. The first installment of Rs 1,000 is provided for registering the pregnancy at the Anganwadi center.

After the completion of the ANC (Ante Natal Check-up) and six months of pregnancy, the second installment of Rs 2,000 is given.

The third installment of Rs 2,000 is granted after the child’s birth registration.

Additionally, a sum of 1000 rupees is offered under the Janani Suraksha Yojana after delivery.

Eligibility Criteria

Pregnant women and lactating mothers who have their first child or pregnancy after January 1, 2017, are eligible to benefit from this scheme.

Number of Beneficiaries

According to the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana website, a total of 3,05,67,149 women have availed the benefits of this scheme so far.

Required Documents

To apply for the scheme, the following documents are necessary:

  1. Application Form 1A
  2. Bank passbook
  3. A consent form signed by the applicant and her husband
  4. Copy of MCP card
  5. ID or Aadhaar Card
