Airbus has shortlisted Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka for the proposed production unit. The unit is being proposed in partnership with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and already final assessment of sites is under progress, according to reports.
“Airbus Helicopters has shortlisted four States to establish its new production facility for single-engine H125 helicopters in India. This will be Airbus’s fourth such facility in the world in partnership with Tata Advanced Systems Limited. Noida or Kanpur could be an ideal location for this,” the Uttar Pradesh Index said on X.

It is a big investment opportunity and Hyderabad not featuring among the shortlisted cities has left many dejected, besides reflecting the current state of affairs in Telangana.
Hyderabad was ranked top in the FDI’s Aerospace Cities of the Cities 2020/21 rankings in 2021. Further Telangana has created dedicated aerospace and precision engineering clusters with the best infrastructure. Adibatla Aerospace SEZ has been hosting mega projects of leading companies like Tata Group and others.

More so, in March 2023, Airbus awarded a contract to TASL to manufacture cargo and bulk doors of the A32o neo aircraft. TASL was to produce these doors at its new facility in Hyderabad. (Maxim News)
