Cyberabad Police Launches First Home Guards Co-Operative Credit Society
Hyderabad, Nov 13 (Maxim News) The Cyberabad Police has launched the Cyberabad Home Guards Co-operative Credit Society Ltd., the first co-operative credit society in Telangana exclusively for Home Guards personnel.
The society aims to promote financial welfare and socio-economic well-being of Home Guards through co-operative credit and targeted welfare initiatives. It is established under the Cyberabad Commissionerate to institutionalise support for the force.
Elections to the Managing Committee were conducted on November 12, 2025, under the supervision of Election Officer and Assistant Registrar K. Praveen Kumar, appointed by the State Co-operative Election Authority.
Officials said the process was fair, transparent, and orderly, with all candidates elected unanimously. The new committee members are B. Gopal, M. Ashok Kumar, E. Buchaiah, P. Narender Reddy, T. Manmadha Rao, G. Chinnamma, and Jayalaxmi.
Ex-officio members of the society include Joint Commissioner of Police Dr. Gajarao Bhupal, IPS, as President; ADCP (CAR Headquarters) J. K. Shameer as Vice-President; and RI (Home Guards) M. Vijay Anand as Treasurer.
Following the election, the Managing Committee called on Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty, IPS, who congratulated them and advised the team to run the society with integrity, accountability, and collective interest.
He underscored prudent financial management and transparent operations.
The society plans to introduce a comprehensive insurance scheme to strengthen financial resilience and social security for Home Guards.
Leaders said the initiative marks a significant step towards organised financial empowerment, welfare, and unity among Home Guards serving under the Cyberabad Commissionerate.
The model is expected to inspire similar frameworks across other regions in Telangana.
Officials added that the society will focus on accessible loans, member education, and welfare benefits aligned with the needs of frontline personnel. (Maxim News)
