Chicken prices fall by Rs.100 after sharp rise in Hyderabad
Chicken prices | Hyderabad, March 29: Chicken lovers have received some relief as prices have dropped sharply this week.
Last week, prices had risen steeply due to strong demand and supply issues. However, rates have now fallen by around Rs.100 per kg in many places.
At the beginning of March, chicken rates ranged between Rs.360 and Rs.400 per kg. Meanwhile, rising summer temperatures caused poultry deaths. As a result, farm owners increased prices due to higher feed costs and lower supply.
At the same time, the wedding season and other functions increased demand. Therefore, both skinless and normal chicken prices touched record levels. Last week, prices even reached Rs.400 per kg. Because of this rise, many consumers shifted to seafood.
Chicken prices fall as supply improves
After a week, prices dropped sharply. Currently, skinless chicken costs about Rs.270 per kg in Hyderabad. Similarly, the same price trend continues in Warangal. However, in Amalapuram of Andhra Pradesh, prices remain between Rs.300 and Rs.350 per kg.
Traders said prices depend on several factors. These include temperature changes, poultry production, and availability. Therefore, rates may continue to change based on supply conditions.
Meanwhile, improved availability appears to have reduced prices. Also, demand seems to have stabilised after last week’s spike. As a result, consumers are now getting some price relief.
Market sources said price movements are common in summer. They added that heat conditions affect poultry supply. Therefore, prices may fluctuate depending on weather and market demand.
