Hyderabad, May 22 (Maxim News): BRS Working President KTR launched a sharp attack on the Telangana government and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over paddy procurement, alleged land scams, and the handling of a POCSO case involving Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, KTR alleged that the Congress government had completely failed in procuring paddy from farmers across the state. He claimed that even 35 percent of the total paddy had not been purchased so far, while ministers were falsely claiming that over 50 percent procurement had been completed.
KTR said farmers were being forced to stage protests on roads due to the government’s negligence. He alleged that even Congress workers were participating in these protests because of the severe distress faced by farmers.
He challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to visit any village in Telangana and prove that 80 percent of paddy procurement had been completed. KTR said the BRS would accept any punishment if the government’s claims were proven true. He accused the Congress government of showing more interest in land grabbing than in protecting farmers dependent on agriculture.
KTR alleged that Congress leaders were involved in large scale land encroachments across Telangana. He accused Vem Narender Reddy of illegally occupying assigned lands in Kesamudram under the guise of “Bhu Harathi.”
He further alleged that close associates of the Chief Minister had pressured revenue officials and secured allocation of nearly 90 acres of ceiling land in Shamshabad through official orders. According to KTR, the land was worth thousands of crores of rupees.
He claimed that these irregularities surfaced during ACB investigations and accused the government of protecting influential persons involved in the alleged scam.
KTR also targeted the government and BJP leadership over the POCSO case involving Bandi Sanjay’s son. He alleged that the accused was deliberately protected for nine days and was not arrested because Prime Minister Narendra Modi was visiting Telangana during that period.
He questioned why the accused was not arrested immediately despite serious allegations involving a minor girl. KTR criticised sections of the media for allegedly downplaying the case and spreading misleading narratives.
The BRS leader alleged that the accused was hidden at a private hospital allegedly linked to relatives of the Chief Minister. He demanded strict action against BJP leaders and media organisations that disclosed the identity of the minor victim.
KTR also demanded the resignation of Bandi Sanjay, accusing him of shielding the accused instead of cooperating with the investigation. He praised R. S. Praveen Kumar for raising his voice in support of the victim.
KTR further challenged Revanth Reddy to dissolve the Telangana Assembly and seek a fresh mandate if he was confident about continuing as Chief Minister till 2034.
He demanded that Congress leaders who had defected from BRS should resign and face elections again. KTR asserted that the BRS would fight all cases legally and politically without fear.
He also accused the Congress government of filing false cases against opposition leaders to suppress dissent and silence criticism.
KTR questions governance and promises
The BRS leader said the Congress government had failed to implement several promises made to people during elections. He alleged that farmers, unemployed youth, and weaker sections were facing hardships under the current administration.
KTR said the government’s focus had shifted towards political vendetta instead of governance and welfare. He warned that people were closely observing the situation and would give a strong response in the future. (Maxim News)
