Hyderabad, July 7: BJP Telangana president Ramchandra Rao on Tuesday alleged that MIM and Congress leaders are threatening Booth Level Officers during the Special Intensive Revision process. He urged the Chief Electoral Officer to ensure the SIR process continues without disruptions across the state.
Ramchandra Rao led a BJP delegation to meet the Chief Electoral Officer in Hyderabad. During the meeting, he alleged that the MIM was not cooperating with the SIR process and sought measures to ensure its smooth implementation.
Later, he told reporters that BLOs in several areas were facing threats from MIM and Congress leaders. He also alleged that they were being stopped from carrying out door to door distribution of voter verification forms.
Furthermore, Ramchandra Rao said many voters had not received the required forms. He added that voters from other states were facing difficulties because the forms were available only in Telugu.
Therefore, the BJP requested the Election Commission to provide English forms wherever needed, including areas outside Hyderabad. He also urged the Chief Electoral Officer to address errors in the electoral rolls and ensure eligible voters do not face inconvenience.
