Hyderabad, July 23: BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) has announced that he will issue a legal notice to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over allegations linking him and his family to private firm Globarena in connection with the 2019 Intermediate examination results controversy.
KTR demanded that the Chief Minister either issue a public apology for what he described as false allegations or face legal proceedings.
The development comes after Revanth Reddy, while addressing a Congress protest in Kodangal on Wednesday, alleged that irregularities in the 2019 Intermediate examination results were linked to Globarena. He claimed the company had been awarded the contract despite allegedly lacking the required experience and further alleged that it was connected to KTR.
Rejecting the allegations, KTR accused the Chief Minister of spreading “fake news” for political purposes.
“The Telangana Chief Minister should start acting like a Chief Minister. Resorting to peddling fake news on a tragic incident is unacceptable,” KTR said.
He categorically denied any association with Globarena.
“BRS, my family and I have no links to Globarena whatsoever. My legal team will shortly send a notice asking the Chief Minister to apologise or face legal action,” he said.
KTR also said he had ignored previous allegations made by Revanth Reddy, describing them as baseless, but decided to pursue legal action over the latest remarks.
