TSPC Vice-Chairman Seeks More Navodaya Schools, Deplores Centre’s Apathy
Hyderabad, Jan.31 (Maxim News): Telangana State Planning Commission vice-chairman B Vinod Kumar said injustice was being caused to Telangana State by Centre on Navodaya Schools.
In a letter addressed to Niti Ayog vice-chairman Rajiv Kumar, Vinod Kumar has expressed his concern on the issue and appealed to the Centre to set up 24 more Navodaya schools in Telangana State as the number of districts was increased from 10 to 33 and population almost touched four crore in the State. “There are only nine such schools now and 24 more are needed to be set up as a total of 33 schools are supposed to be established”, he maintained.
He also said the Centre was allotting more schools to the northern States with less population and ignoring Telangana’s repeated pleas. “Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard but there was no response”, he bemoaned. “As an MP, I had raised the same in Parliament and asked the Centre to allot more Navodaya schools to the infant State”, he said.
