Telangana bans private practice for direct recruitment doctors

Hyderabad, June 7 (Maxim News): As officials are gearing up to issue a notification to fill up 10,028 vacant posts in the Health department, the State government on Tuesday took a key decision and issued orders banning private practice for doctors recruited through direct recruitment.

The State government issued an GO Ms No 56 in this regard and clearly stated that the private practice would be banned for newly recruited posts. The notification is part of amendments made via the GO to the Special Rules for the Telangana Medical Education Service Rules issued in GO Ms No.154 issued way back in May 2002.

The decision of banning private practice by doctors has been taken for providing the quality service to the poor, a senior official in the health department said.

However, the new rule is not applicable to the existing doctors and it can be applied to those who will be recruited in the fresh notification. (Maxim News)
