Ayodhya, June 22: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government has submitted its preliminary report to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding alleged irregularities in donations made by devotees at the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
SIT Examines Donation Management at Ayodhya Temple
The SIT was formed on June 13 to examine allegations related to the handling and accounting of donations received at the temple, which is managed by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
According to reports cited in the preliminary findings, investigators examined records linked to cash donations and offerings such as gold, silver, precious stones and ornaments.
The inquiry reportedly identified discrepancies in documentation and raised questions about procedures related to storage, accounting and management of donated valuables.
Investigators questioned several officials and collected records as part of the ongoing probe.
The report is also said to have examined donations received during the period of high pilgrim turnout associated with the Kumbh Mela season, when large numbers of devotees visited and donation collection volumes increased significantly.
Authorities are reportedly reviewing whether all procedures for recording and depositing donations were properly followed.
As part of the investigation process, directions have reportedly been issued restricting movement of certain personnel connected with temple administration until further review.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that action would be taken if wrongdoing is established after completion of the investigation.
The inquiry remains ongoing and no final conclusions or findings of guilt have been officially announced so far.
