Bhupalpally, June 22: A District Transport Officer lost his life in a tragic road accident after being hit by a coal tipper lorry while carrying out vehicle inspections in Bhupalpally district.
According to initial information, the incident occurred on the Parakala–Bhupalpally highway near the RDO office on the outskirts of Chelpur in Ganapuram mandal.
DTO Dies During Vehicle Inspection in Bhupalpally
District Transport Officer Venkanna was reportedly conducting routine vehicle checks as part of his official duties when a speeding coal tipper lorry struck him.
Due to the impact of the collision, he sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Reports indicate that Venkanna had been transferred to Bhupalpally district around 15 days ago.
After receiving information about the accident, police officials reached the location and began an investigation.
Authorities have taken the tipper lorry driver into custody and questioning is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
