Hyderabad, May 25 (Maxim News): Officials of the Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a record assistant working in a government school in Ameerpet while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 for processing pension related files.
The accused was identified as S. Shivanand, Record Assistant in the Office of the Deputy Inspector of Schools at Government High School, Ameerpet Mandal, Hyderabad.
According to the ACB press note issued on Monday, the accused officer was caught red handed by the ACB City Range II unit at around 2 pm on May 25 while allegedly demanding and accepting the bribe amount from a complainant.
Officials said the accused allegedly demanded the money for processing and submitting the pension benefit file of the complainant’s mother to higher authorities and for facilitating retirement benefit settlements.
ACB Recovers Tainted Cash During Trap Operation
The Anti Corruption Bureau stated that the tainted cash amount of Rs 20,000 was recovered from the possession of the accused officer during the trap operation.
ACB officials alleged that the officer performed his duties improperly and dishonestly in order to obtain undue financial advantage.
Following the operation, the accused officer was arrested and is being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
Officials said the identity and details of the complainant have been withheld for security reasons. The case is currently under investigation.
