Adivasi Leader Asks CM To Implement Forest Lands Protect Act Strictly

Hyderabad, July 15 (Maxim News): Vice chairman of All India Adivasi Congress and Congress leader Bellaiah Naik on Monday demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao give details of land distributed to the tribals in the State in the upcoming Assembly session.

Addressing media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here today, Bellaiah Naik alleged that the KCR government was trying to portray the image of tribals as destroyers of the forests. He also alleged that the State government has grossly failed in controlling the smugglers of forest produce. He also alleged that the State government was foisting false cases against tribals and under PD Act.

Naik claimed that the Telangana State has only forest lands and not podu lands. He asked the State government as to why it didn’t take any action on the paper board, which encroached upon 2,000 acres of land in Bhadrachalam. He demanded that the State government implement the Forest Land Protection Act, which was enacted by previous Congress-led UPA government at the Centre. (Maxim News)
