Officials stated that these operations aimed to dismantle support systems for terrorists trying to find new hideouts in the plains before the onset of winter. The move followed widespread searches in Doda district on Saturday, where multiple suspected individuals were summoned for questioning. According to intelligence inputs, terrorist operatives active in the higher mountain belts have been seeking safe shelter as temperatures drop.

The Ramban Senior Superintendent of Police, Arun Gupta, supervised the efforts in Banihal and Gool. Police spokespersons said that the purpose was to verify the antecedents of individuals linked to Jammu and Kashmir-based terrorists operating from Pakistan. Houses of family members and known associates of suspected militants were also searched. The police stressed that these operations were preventive, intelligence-driven, and carefully conducted to avoid public inconvenience.

Security teams meticulously checked several premises to ensure that no unlawful or anti-national activity was being supported or facilitated. Officials added that maintaining peace and stability in the region remains the top priority.

Police also urged residents to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. They encouraged the public to share information on suspicious movements or individuals, assuring that the identity of informants would remain strictly confidential. Similar searches continued in Kathua and Rajouri, reinforcing the ongoing preventive measures to preserve security and public order across Jammu.
