Hyderabad, May 25: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday questioned senior IAS officer Amoy Kumar in connection with the Bhoodan land issue and alleged money laundering linked to illegal land transfers in Rangareddy district.
The ED summoned Amoy Kumar to appear before investigators with sale deeds, bank account details and property records related to the case. He appeared before officials and submitted the requested documents during the inquiry.
Investigators are examining alleged irregularities in the transfer of Bhoodan lands in Nagaram village of Maheshwaram mandal. The probe focuses on transactions that reportedly took place when Amoy Kumar served as the Rangareddy District Collector.
ED Probes Alleged Illegal Bhoodan Land Transfers
According to officials, the ED is investigating the case from the money laundering angle after police registered cases at Maheshwaram police station in 2023.
Authorities suspect that Bhoodan lands were illegally transferred to private individuals through questionable transactions. Officials are also examining allegations that nearly 42 acres of land were unlawfully annexed, leading to large financial gains.
This is not the first time the IAS officer has faced questioning in the matter. ED officials had earlier questioned him several times during 2024 as part of the ongoing investigation.
The agency is continuing its probe into the financial trail, land records and property transactions linked to the case.
