Amaravati, June 8: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan will travel to New Delhi on Tuesday to participate in the NDA Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 10.
The meeting comes as the NDA government at the Centre completes two years of its third consecutive term in office.
Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA ruled states are expected to attend the meeting. Discussions are likely to focus on the implementation of Central welfare schemes, development programmes and coordination between the Centre and states.
The meeting is also expected to review the progress of key government initiatives and examine ways to strengthen cooperation among NDA governed states.
Political observers believe issues related to the NDA’s future strategy and the role of alliance partners may also come up for discussion. Reports suggest that matters linked to a possible Union Cabinet reshuffle could be discussed informally.
During the meeting, Chandrababu Naidu is expected to raise issues concerning Andhra Pradesh, including development projects, Central assistance, infrastructure needs and pending commitments related to the Andhra Pradesh bifurcation.
The gathering is considered significant as it brings together top leaders of the ruling alliance to discuss governance priorities and future policy direction.
