Cops raid sellers of Chinese ‘Manja’, 7 arrested

Hyderabad, Jan 14 (Maxim News): SOT, Rachakonda raided on Kites selling shops, where prohibited Chinese manja is selling in the limits of L.B. Nagar, Malkajgiri & Bhongir zones and apprehended Seven persons here on Saturday.

In view of Bhogi, Sankranthi & Kanuma festivals, the kite shop sellers selling the Govt. prohibited Chinese manja which is made by nylon thread and crushed glass or other harmful substances used for kite flying or other purpose, likely to cause grievous injury and inconvenience to animal including birds as well as human beings.

The SOT, Rachakonda paid special attention to this issue and conducted raids on Kites selling shops, where prohibited Chinese manja selling in the limits of L.B. Nagar, Malkajgiri & Bhongir zones and apprehended Seven persons and booked (7) cases U/section 5, 15 of the Environment (Protection) Act 1986 & Sec 188 IPC and handed over to concerned Police Stations for further proceedings.

The raids were conducted under the supervision of K. Narsing Rao, Inspector of Police, I/C SOT Rachakonda by G.Naveen Kumar, Inspector SOT, Malkajgiri, P. Anjaneyulu, M. Kashi Vishwanath & A. Ramulu, SI’s and staff of SOT Rachakonda. (Maxim News)
