Hyderabad, May 2 (Maxim News): Telangana DGP C V Anand has directed traffic police to perform duties without causing inconvenience to the public. The directive follows recent concerns over traffic disruptions in Hyderabad.
The instructions came after accidents on the Outer Ring Road and complaints about prolonged traffic halts during convoy movements. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed serious concern and ordered corrective steps. He asked officials to ensure that traffic does not remain blocked for long during convoy movement.
DGP CV Anand held a review meeting with traffic officials under GHMC limits on Saturday. He met Joint Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of Police to assess current traffic conditions. Therefore, the meeting focused on improving coordination and management strategies.

During the review, the DGP stressed the need for dynamic traffic control measures. He said traffic volume is increasing steadily across the city. Hence, officials must adapt strategies to manage congestion effectively.
He also announced plans to establish a Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau. This initiative aims to strengthen road safety systems in the state. Moreover, the bureau is expected to become operational soon.
The DGP instructed officers to intensify enforcement drives. In particular, he asked them to act against drunk driving and violations of helmet and seat belt rules. Regular inspections must ensure strict compliance with traffic laws.
At the same time, he emphasized that enforcement should not inconvenience citizens. He urged officers to balance strict action with public convenience. This approach aims to improve both safety and commuter experience.
Senior officials including Joint CP Traffic Chandana Deepti and several DCPs attended the meeting. Overall, the directives highlight the government’s focus on road safety and efficient traffic regulation.
