Hyderabad, May 26: A fire broke out in a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation bus belonging to the Gadwal depot at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station on Tuesday morning, triggering panic among passengers.
According to officials, the incident occurred in the section where buses travelling towards Mahabubnagar and Gadwal are parked.
Passengers onboard the bus immediately got down and ran to safety after noticing flames emerging from the vehicle.
RTC Staff Prevent Major Accident At MGBS
RTC staff present at the bus station quickly responded and used water to control the fire before it spread further.
Officials said the timely response helped prevent a major accident at the crowded bus station.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
Authorities are yet to confirm the exact reason behind the fire. RTC officials are expected to inspect the vehicle and determine the cause of the incident.
The Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station is one of the busiest bus terminals in Hyderabad and handles hundreds of buses daily across Telangana and neighbouring states.
