Hyderabad: A fire broke out on the fifth floor of an apartment building in Yousufguda on Friday morning, triggering panic among residents and flat owners in the area.
Soon after receiving information, firefighters rushed to the spot with two fire tenders and launched operations to control the flames. Officials said the fire was brought under control before it could spread to other floors of the apartment building.
Residents immediately vacated the premises after thick smoke engulfed parts of the building. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident, according to preliminary information.
Firefighters Suspect Electrical Short Circuit
Fire department officials said an electrical short circuit is suspected to be one of the possible reasons behind the fire. However, the exact cause will be confirmed only after a detailed inspection and technical assessment.
Firefighters stated that they are collecting details from the flat owners residing on the fifth floor to determine how the incident started and whether any electrical appliances triggered the blaze.
The incident created panic among local residents as smoke spread rapidly through the apartment premises. Police personnel also reached the location and assisted in crowd control and evacuation measures.
Officials said further investigation into the incident is underway.
