Has TRS Begun ‘Witch-Hungting’ Of Cong On Eve Of Polls ?

Hyderabad, Sept.12 (Maxim News): Has the TRS leadership, which is determined to retain its foothold in Telangana State in the ensuing elections, began employing strong-arm tactics to dent and blunt its political adversaries, especially the Congress.

This has become the hot topic in political circles after the manner in which Congress leaders have become sudden targets of political vendetta due to TRS leadership’s intense power politics.

If it was Jayaprakash Reddy, alias Jagga Reddy, who was arrested on alleged charges of human trafficking pertaining to an age-old case and filed cases against Gandra Venkatramana Reddy’s brothers on Tuesday in connection with Weapon Act now it seems the turn of fire-brand leader Revanth Reddy who has been served notices by the police in connection with a case of alleged irregularities pertaining the year 2001.

Jagga Reddy has been accused of obtaining forged passports and visas for a woman two children to travel to USA, He was arrested and remanded to judicial custody by the Market Police. Even as the Congress leadership started crying hoarse against the TRS for indulging in witch-hunting, the Jubilee Hills Police issued a notice to Revanth Reddy, who had defected from TDP and joined the Congress sometime back, to appear for interrogation in connection with a case of alleged irregularities in a housing society. Along with him 13 others were also served with notices.

The police notice directed Revanth Reddy to appear for interrogation within 15 days, however the Congress leader sought time as he was busy in election campaign.

It looks as if old cases and files which have been gathering dust for many years now seem to have come in handy for the TRS to play “dirty power politics”, alleged one Congress leader.

Refuting the Congress charge that the TRS was indulging in power politics and political vendetta, TRS MP K. Kavitha said that as a matter of fact the past misdeeds and sins of the Congress leaders were now haunting them. A desperate Congress in the face of severe drubbing defeat in the coming elections is now making baseless charges against the TRS, she observed. (Maxim News)
