Hyderabad Police Bust Online Gaming Scam, Arrest Mastermind

Hyderabad, Jan 6, (Maxim News): In a major victory against cybercrime, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have apprehended 36-year-old Hitesh Goyal, the mastermind behind a complex online gaming scam that swindled unsuspecting individuals out of millions.

Goyal, a resident of Haryana, operated an office in Delhi and collaborated with the organizers of the notorious online gaming website Dafabet to carry out his fraudulent activities.

The case came to light when a victim from Hyderabad’s Somajiguda area filed a complaint alleging that he had been duped through Dafabet (www.dafabet.com). The victim had shockingly transferred a staggering Rs 70 lakhs to bank accounts provided by the con artists. Acting swiftly, the Cyber Crime Police registered a case (Cr.No.887/2023) under relevant sections of the ITA Act, IPC, and the TS Amendment Gaming Act.

Investigations revealed that Goyal, along with his Dubai-based associate Sanjeev, colluded with the organizers of Dafabet, an illegal platform operating from across borders in the Philippines, Dubai, Hong Kong, and China. The duo facilitated Dafabet’s fraudulent activities by providing the platform with numerous bank accounts and Merchant IDs, enabling them to deceive gullible players.
