Hyderabad, Feb 11 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force team caught two persons who were trading in banned foreign cigarettes and seized property worth Rs. 20.50 lakh from them.
According to Additional DCP Task Force, A Srinivasa Rao, two suspects, Mohd Imran (42) and Mohd Ayub (50), both residents of Habeebnagar, were sourcing different brands of cigarettes that are manufactured illegally from Gujarat, Delhi, and other places in the city. “The contraband cigarettes were supplied to local shops at higher prices.
The manufacturers labelled the cigarettes under various brand names and evaded customs duty and GST, causing loss to the government,” said the Additional DCP Task Force.
