Indiramma Minority Women Scheme Faces Technical Glitches, Says Welfare Association

  • Online portal rejecting eligible applications of Minority Women beneficiaries under Indiramma Housing Scheme

Indiramma Minority Women Scheme | Hyderabad, Sept. 22 (Maxim News): The Telangana government’s recently introduced Indiramma Minority Women Scheme has come under criticism from the Minority Welfare Association, which has flagged serious technical issues in the application process.

State General Secretary of the Association, Md. Yakub Pasha, said that eligible women are being denied access to the scheme due to errors on the OBMMS online portal.

He urged the government to correct these lapses immediately, saying that they are obstructing the very purpose of the scheme.

According to the guidelines, women between the ages of 21 and 55 years, including single women, widows, divorcees, and women with disabilities, are eligible to apply for financial assistance of ₹50,000 under the Indiramma Minority Women Scheme.

However, the online portal is reportedly allowing applications only from women aged between 45 and 55 years.

As a result, applicants in the 21–44 age group are facing rejection despite being eligible under the government’s own criteria.

Yakub Pasha further pointed out another technical flaw in the application process.

He said that the portal has made it mandatory to enter the Aadhaar number of the applicant’s father.

This requirement has become a barrier for many women, especially widows and single women, who may not have access to their father’s Aadhaar details.
“Due to this condition, several eligible women are unable to apply for the scheme and are being denied the ₹50,000 loan assistance,” he said.

Calling the lapses “serious obstacles” in empowering widows, single women, and differently-abled women from minority communities, Pasha demanded that the government take immediate corrective measures.

He stressed that the scheme, designed to uplift and empower vulnerable sections, would fail in its objectives unless these issues are resolved at the earliest.

The Minority Welfare Association has appealed to the authorities to ensure that the Indiramma Minority Women Scheme is implemented smoothly and that genuine beneficiaries are not left out due to avoidable technical errors. (Maxim News)
