KCR said people had witnessed days when gruel centres ran in Telangana due to poverty. He added that many families from Palamuru migrated in search of food and work before statehood. Therefore, he said the movement became necessary.
He also recalled the Basheerbagh firing during the undivided state period. He said the incident, linked to protests over power tariff hikes, pushed him towards the Telangana struggle.
KCR recalls Telangana struggle and attacks Congress
KCR said the BRS government transformed Telangana during its ten year rule. He claimed the state received safe drinking water and 24 hour power supply under BRS. Moreover, he said Telangana emerged as a leading state in the country.
He then targeted the present Congress government over unfulfilled promises. He asked what happened to pledges such as gold assistance, scooters, higher pensions and a job calendar.
He also alleged that schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Dalit Bandhu were neglected. As a result, he claimed farmers and poor families were suffering under the present administration.
KCR further accused the ruling leaders of ignoring governance. He said the government was focusing on political attacks instead of development. Therefore, he urged people to judge the administration on performance.
At the same time, KCR expressed confidence about BRS returning to power. He said the party lost the last election by only 1.7 percent votes. However, he claimed people were now understanding the true nature of Congress rule.
He predicted that BRS would form the next government with a strong majority. Meanwhile, he encouraged party workers to stay united and prepare for future elections.
The Jagityal meeting also gained attention as senior leader T Jeevan Reddy joined BRS during the event. Consequently, the public meeting has added fresh momentum to Telangana politics.
