Revanth Reddy said the Kaleshwaram project failed despite huge public spending. He alleged that the project cost nearly Rs 1 lakh crore but collapsed within months. Therefore, he described it as a symbol of wasteful spending and misrule.
He also targeted senior leader T Jeevan Reddy for joining BRS. The Chief Minister alleged that Jeevan Reddy changed parties after Congress gave ministerial representation to Adluri Laxman.
Revanth Reddy targets KCR and Jeevan Reddy
Revanth Reddy said Congress had given Jeevan Reddy many opportunities in the past. However, he claimed the senior leader joined BRS for political reasons. He then mocked the move and said he would watch which party Jeevan Reddy joins next.
He also said BRS would not even secure Opposition status in the next Assembly election. Moreover, he vowed that the KCR family would not return to power in Telangana.
The Chief Minister claimed Congress had already defeated BRS in recent elections. Therefore, he expressed confidence that the same trend would continue in 2029 as well.
Revanth Reddy further said he and PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud would work together to bring Congress back to power for a second term. He compared the present effort with the earlier leadership of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and D. Srinivas, who led Congress to victory in the past.
At the same time, he responded strongly to recent criticism from KCR. He said the people of Telangana had already seen the BRS model of governance and would not support it again.
The exchange of sharp remarks between the two leaders has heated up Telangana politics. Meanwhile, both Congress and BRS are preparing for an intense political battle in the coming years.
