Munsif Editor Khan Lateef Mohammed Khan No More

Hyderabad: Chief Editor of Urdu daily Munsif, Khan Lateef Mohammed Khan, passed away after a brief illness in Chicago in the United States early on Friday. He was 80 years and is survived by his wife, two sons and four daughters.

Khan was known for bringing in a revolutionary change in Urdu publications in the city by re-introducing the Munsif newspaper in colour print 23 years ago.

He was also chairman of the Sultan Uloom Educational Society and was instrumental in setting up schools across the city wherein hundreds of children from poor families are pursuing education at a nominal fee.

Khan was also involved in various social activities both in the city and the United States and was a leading member of various social organizations. His son Aslam Mohd Khan is a noted doctor in Chicago.

He lived in Banjara Hills and had left for Chicago a fortnight ago. The funeral prayers will be held in Chicago after Friday prayers and the body will be laid to rest at a local burial ground there.

Several eminent personalities of the city have extended condolences to the family members.
