Nomination For Defence Correspondents Course 2023
The Directorate of Public Relations (DPR), Ministry of Defence will be conducting a Defence Correspondents Course (DCC) for young Defence beat journalists to provide them exposure to Ministry of Defence/Defence Establishments.
The tentative proposed dates of DCC-2023 are from 21 Aug to 08 Sep 2023. The aim of the course is to create a Defence beat journalists pool in the future so that effective publicity of programmes and policies of the Ministry of Defence is effectively projected in the media from the right perspective. The course consists of four different modules namely Army, Navy, Air Force and MoD.
The age (maximum) of the participant should be 35 years as on 1st July 2023. Educational qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in any stream (essential) from a recognised University/institution and a diploma or degree in Mass Communication/ Journalism/Public Relations from a recognised University/institution will be given additional weightage.
Professional Experience is at least three years of journalistic (editorial/reporting) experience with any reputed Newspaper/ Agency/ Electronic/ Digital Based Channel on a regular basis. In the case of print media, the newspaper/ periodical should be registered with the Registrar of Newspapers of India. Published/ Broadcast works relating to Defence issues will have an added advantage for selection. Women candidates are encouraged to apply for the course. The final selection of the candidates rests with DPR, Defence, and New Delhi.
