‘ntolerant Opposition’ Forced Assembly Dissolution: CM

Hyderabad, Sept.6 (Maxim News): TRS president and care-taker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday justified his decision to dissolve the State Assembly and go in for early elections primarily “to save Telangana from being destabilized by an intolerant Opposition, especially the Congress, and ensure uninterrupted development process in the State”.

Speaking to the media soon after meeting Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan to hand over the State Cabinet’s resolution for dissolution of the Assembly, KCR in his inimitable tone and tenor lambasted the Congress for all the ills and evils perpetrated on the State and people. Asserting that the Congress was the biggest enemy of Telangana State, the caretaker CM did not spare the TDP for Telangana’s backwardness and step-motherly treatment during the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh.

During 35 years of the Congress and TDP government in the State, Telangana was put to innumerable difficulties for want of electricity, especially for the farm sector. After the new State of Telangana was formed and TRS took the reins of administration, the State has achieved surplus in the power sector. The farmers were being provided uninterrupted power supply, he pointed out.

KCR was aghast that when the TRS Government entered into power agreement with the neighbouring Chattisgarh State in order to mitigate the sufferings of the farmers and also domestic consumers, the Congress “idiots” began misinformation campaign and base allegations. What is more the Congress leaders have been putting hurdles in various developmental projects, especially the irrigation projects. Apart from making ill-conceived charges and unwanted criticism, the party leaders even filed numerous courts to stop the projects, he charged.

The TRS Chief explained the various welfare and developmental programmes launched by the state government during the last four and half years which undoubtedly had resulted in giving a ray of hope and confidence among the people to lead a respectable life. He reiterated that the ruling party had not only fulfilled 99.9 percent of its poll promises but also implemented as many as 76 new welfare scheme which were not in election manifesto. In this regard he referred to Kalyana Laxmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes for the poor, Rythu Bhima and Rythu Bhandu schemes for the farmers, community halls for various castes, etc.

Despite all these welfare and development schemes undertaken by the TRS Government which was appreciated by leaders from various states and parties and has become a role model for other for many, KCR was aghast that the Congress leaders were bent upon levelling corruption charges against the ruling party. Not one of the numerous charges levelled by the opposition has any substance nor was proved, he observed. Moreover, the state achieved the distinction of being the only state for recording an economic growth of 21.96 percent during this month alone, he pointed out.

Reminding that in spite of enjoying a comfortable majority and still having nine months tenure he had opted for dissolving the Assembly and face the elections, KCR said that this decision was mainly with the sole determination and commitment to take forward Telangana on the road to progress and prosperity by saving the people from falling pray to the evil designs of the Congress. He was confident the people of the state would understand the mischievous game plan and greedy politics of the Congress leaders and teach them a fitting reply in the coming elections. (Maxim News)
