Hyderabad, August 27: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticised the Telangana government over alleged harassment of party leaders in Bodhan.
Speaking at a special meeting of AIMIM workers, Owaisi warned the Congress government ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections.
He said AIMIM would demonstrate its political strength in the next election. He also accused the government of using bulldozers to demolish houses.
“Is Telangana being treated like Uttar Pradesh?” Owaisi asked while questioning the alleged demolitions.
Owaisi also urged AIMIM workers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. He said workers must remain active among people in areas where the party won local body elections.
Owaisi raises voter list concerns
Owaisi also raised allegations about voter deletions during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
He claimed that Form 7 was being used in some states to seek deletion of names from voter lists. He specifically alleged attempts to remove Muslim voters.
Owaisi accused the RSS and BJP affiliated organisations of seeking such deletions. However, these allegations were made by Owaisi and were not independently established in the report.
He urged voters to check their names after the final electoral roll was published. He said voters should remain alert about changes to their electoral details.
The AIMIM chief also referred to Uttarakhand while making his allegations about voter deletions. He claimed that Form 7 applications were being filed against Muslim voters there.
Owaisi further reviewed AIMIM’s performance in recent local body elections in Telangana. He asked workers to consolidate victories and work harder in areas where the party lost.
He attributed some unexpected defeats to internal differences within the party. Therefore, he called for greater unity among party workers.
Owaisi’s remarks signal that AIMIM plans to intensify its political activity ahead of the 2028 Telangana Assembly elections.
The party’s campaign is likely to focus on local organisational expansion, voter outreach and issues involving minority representation.
For now, Owaisi has positioned AIMIM as an active opposition voice against the Congress government in Telangana.
