Piyush Goyal insulted TS, Centre failed on paddy row: Ministers

Hyderabad, March 26 (Maxim News): State Government today lashed out at the BJP Government at the Centre for duping farmers of Telangana on paddy row. The government expressed serious concern at the Centre for not procuring the paddy stocks from the state. Why the BJP Government at the Centre if it is not procuring our paddy and address any other issues, they thundered. The union minister insulted the state and its people on the paddy row, they said, adding that Goyal’s remarks are against the state’s development. The Centre has no intention to procure more food grains and ensure food security.

Speaking to press persons at Telangana Bhavan here the Ministers Niranjan Reddy, Prashanth Reddy, Kamalakar and Ajay Kumar slammed the Centre for playing double standards.

The ministers who returned from Delhi had asked Union food and civil supplies minister Piyush Goyal to get paddy stocks from the state, met with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan and apprised him of the Centre’s attitude on the paddy procurement. Piyush Goyal slammed the state government for misguiding the farmers on paddy row. He also criticised that the chief minister was trying to blame the Centre on the same issue instead of procuring the same.

The Ministers expressed displeasure that the Centre was insulting them and the state on the paddy row and other issues. When we urge to change the policies of the Centre to ensure that the paddy or food grains are procured from the state, Goyal made ridiculing comments, they deplored.

The Centre has been showing partisan attitude at the new state and envious towards Telangana, the ministers said. If the Centre cannot adopt the same policy to procure the food grains like in Punjab or other states, what for the BJP Governmetn there, they questioned. The BJP Government should avoid such vengeance policies and suppress the state from development, they said. BJP leaders Sanjay, MP Arvind should exert pressure on the Centre to get the paddy stocks if they have any affection on the farmers, they demanded. They also asked whether union minister Kishan Reddy is not the son of Telangana state who is not taking up the matter with Modi Government. The BJP Government which opposed the UPA regime for ignoring the states’ development is following the same route, they said.

The ministers accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi regime is against Telangana development through his policies. They took exception to the government on price rise in fuel and gas cylinders. When we suggested steps to use petrol with 20 percent ethanol mixture to decrease pollution and save oil, the Centre is not heading to us, they lamented.

The ministers criticised the Centre for burdening the people with rise in prices of petrol, diesel and gas cylinders. They demanded immediate clearance of the paddy and rice stocks and repeal the prices of fuel and gas. (Maxim News)
