New Delhi, June 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Evian, France, on Tuesday to participate in the G7 Summit, marking the final leg of his two nation foreign visit. French President Emmanuel Macron will formally welcome him on arrival.
At the summit, Modi will join a working session themed “Forging New Partnerships and Rebuilding International Solidarity.” Leaders from G7 countries, partner nations and major international institutions will take part in the discussions.
The agenda is expected to focus on strengthening global cooperation, addressing economic challenges and promoting sustainable development.
G7 Summit To Focus On Global Cooperation
On the sidelines of the event, PM Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He is also expected to meet US President Donald Trump.
Later, President Macron will host a gala dinner for participating leaders.
India’s participation reflects its growing role in international affairs and global policy discussions. This marks India’s 13th participation in the G7 Summit and Modi’s seventh consecutive attendance.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India continues to raise issues linked to peace, security, development and environmental sustainability while representing concerns of the Global South through forums such as the G20 and Voice of Global South Summit.
Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that Modi and Trump will hold a bilateral meeting on June 17. The leaders are expected to review progress in negotiations on a proposed India US trade agreement.
