Hyderabad, June 13: Widespread rainfall lashed Hyderabad on Friday evening, prompting the India Meteorological Department to issue a Yellow Alert for the city as heavy showers and gusty winds disrupted normal life.
Several areas, including Koti, Suchitra, Rajendranagar, Attapur, Manikonda, Nampally, Shamshabad, Tarnaka, Miyapur, and Madinaguda, recorded significant rainfall. In addition, thunderstorms were reported in parts of the city.
Authorities placed civic and emergency teams on high alert as weather conditions intensified. Disaster response personnel responded to complaints related to waterlogging, fallen trees, blocked roads, and power disruptions.

Officials said teams were clearing flooded stretches and removing obstructions to restore traffic movement. Meanwhile, residents were advised to avoid unnecessary travel and remain cautious while driving during periods of heavy rain.
According to weather forecasts, moderate to heavy rainfall may continue into the night. Authorities warned that low lying areas could witness temporary flooding if showers persist.
The IMD also issued an Orange Alert for several Telangana districts, including Rangareddy, Medak, Rajanna Sircilla, Jagtial, and Nizamabad, where thunderstorms and strong winds are likely.
Weather officials urged people to monitor updates and follow safety advisories during changing weather conditions.
