Tirumala, June 13: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams received a truck worth Rs 31.72 lakh as a donation from automobile manufacturer Ashok Leyland Limited on Saturday amid continued heavy pilgrim footfall at Tirumala.
The vehicle was formally handed over near the Srivari Temple after special pujas were conducted. Ashok Leyland President Sanjeev Kumar presented the truck keys to TTD Additional Executive Officer C H Venkaiah Chowdhury.
TTD transport officials and temple administration representatives attended the event.
Truck Donation to TTD Amid Heavy Devotee Rush
Devotee turnout remained high at Tirumala as compartments stayed full and pilgrims queued up to the Gogarbham Dam Circle.
TTD officials stated that devotees without tokens could expect darshan within about 24 hours.
Temple authorities said 74,636 devotees had darshan on Friday. Among them, 43,084 devotees offered hair as part of religious offerings.
The temple’s hundi collections reached Rs 4 crore through offerings made by devotees.
