Rama Rajyam Army | Moinabad, February 12: Police have confirmed that Veera Raghava Reddy, the main accused in the attack on Chilukuru Balaji Temple priest CS Rangarajan, had planned and formed the Rama Rajyam Army under the name Kosalendra Trust. How the Rama Rajyam Army Was Formed

Veera Raghava Reddy, a native of Koppavaram village in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, now lives in Manikonda, Hyderabad. In 2022, he started the Rama Rajyam Army and began recruiting members through social media.

  • Membership Requirements: He wanted 5,000 members between the ages of 20 and 50 who could walk 5 kilometers.
  • Registration Fee: Each recruit had to pay Rs. 350 to join.
  • Promises to Members: He claimed they would get a monthly salary of Rs. 20,000 and free accommodation.
  • Initial Recruitment: He managed to recruit 25 people.
  • Funding the Group: He started collecting donations and even contributed Rs. 1,20,599 himself.

Meetings, Uniforms, and the Attack on Rangarajan

In January 2024, Reddy held a four-day meeting with his group in Tanuku, Andhra Pradesh, and then went to Kotappakonda, where they had custom uniforms made. On February 2, they gathered at a house in Yapral, Hyderabad, took photos and videos with their banner, and planned their next steps.

On February 7, they traveled to Chilukuru Balaji Temple in three vehicles and entered priest Rangarajan’s house. When Rangarajan tried to speak, they insulted him, threw him down, and beat him up. He is still recovering from his injuries.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Police believe the attack was part of a fundraising effort for the group. So far, they have arrested Reddy and five others, and two teams are working to find the remaining 14 suspects.

Officers are also investigating Reddy’s past criminal record and any other reasons behind the attack. There is no evidence that Reddy and Rangarajan had met before. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, under the direction of DGP Jitender, is leading the investigation and treating it as a top priority case. (Maxim News)
