Hyderabad, Aug 13 (Maxim News) BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao has lashed out at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, saying that land is being sold wherever he can in the state. Harish wrote a letter to the CM raising questions on land sales. “Wherever government lands are found, are they being sold? You, who used to lecture that government lands were national wealth given by elders, today wherever lands are found, you are auctioning them and putting people’s properties up for sale,” he said.
The former minister said that it is shameful that today Rayadurg is conspiring to sell lands like Kancha Gachibowli, Lagacharla, Maulana Azad National Urdu University. He said that he strongly condemns the TGIIC’s preparations to auction 10.63 acres of heritage land in Survey No. 83/1 of Panmakta village of Rayadurg on August 17 and 21. He reminded that Revanth had approached the court seeking protection of the same lands in 2020. He questioned whether the opposition would say one thing and then say another after coming to power. He questioned why the government, which should protect heritage lands, is in a hurry to auction and sell them.
He revealed that in the past, 6.2 acres of the same survey number were auctioned at a rate of about Rs 237 crore per acre, and SBI had taken it to court… Currently, this matter is under the jurisdiction of the High Court. However, he expressed his anger about the ulterior motive behind auctioning another 10.63 acres of the same survey number. He said that there is no respect for the judicial system. There are many disputes on this land. Why is the auction being held without deciding who owns the land? He asked why the government, which cannot decide who owns the land, is in such a hurry to sell the land. He got angry and asked who gave the Congress government the right to sell heritage lands worth Rs 2,000 crore.
Revanth Reddy, who had described government lands as the national wealth of Telangana as the PCC president, said that he changed his mind after coming to power. He questioned what happened to the promise of ‘we will not sell even government land’. He said that the words of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, who had said as an assembly witness that government lands would not be sold, were worthless. He criticized that even a chameleon would be ashamed of Revanth Reddy’s stance on land auction.
Harish reminded that the Supreme Court has also clarified the need to protect property and prevent the creation of new third-party interests. He questioned what kind of administrative responsibility it is to auction disputed land and create new rights in such circumstances. He demanded that the TGIIC auctions scheduled for August 17 and 21 be immediately stopped. He also demanded that all the heritage, revenue, survey and waqf records related to Survey No. 83 be brought out and a thorough investigation be conducted to ascertain the facts. He warned that if these lands are purchased before the rights and disputes are resolved, legal problems will be inevitable in the future.
The former minister said that it is cruel to see valuable heritage lands that should be given to future generations being sold. He advised him to act as the Chief Minister of the state instead of a real estate businessman. He should be a Chief Minister who protects the welfare of all sections of people and the interests of Telangana, not for the interests of the Anumula Brothers… otherwise he will remain a disgrace in history, Harish Rao said in the letter.
